On February 19, the anniversary of the Japanese American Internment, George Takei took to the interwebs in an effort to raise awareness of this tragic and little understood chapter of American history. As part of his goal, he hoped to gain supporters to help ensure that this story get told through the medium of a musical theater show entitled Allegiance.
His friends, loved ones, and loyal fans turned out in droves to take a stand alongside George. As part of their contributions, donators at the “Ensemble” level and above were able to receive their photo as part of the Allegiance Photo Quilt. Below you will see the photo quilt, a powerful image of the the stars of Allegiance set against the backdrop of the American flag comprised of the people that made this campaign such a success.
